The aim of PASEI II (Protection of Autonomous Systems Against Enemy Interference – Phase II) is the continuation of the PASEI I Project, which has identified many types of threats and attacks on unmanned mobile systems with autonomous and semi-autonomous functions, as well as proposed possible countermeasures for them. PASEI II will broaden the understanding and prioritize threats by their viability and propose further countermeasures with an additional emphasis on human-attack vectors and communication channel exploits. In order to address these challenges, it will cover the following research topics:

  • conduct field trials to determine realistic threats for the case of existing autonomous systems, addressing various electronic, ICT- and human-related aspects and exploits,
  • design and implement countermeasures against the successful threats; laboratory-grade validation and a repeat field trial for performance demonstration and identification of possible additional threats to be addressed,
  • conceptualize an approach at integration of detection and counter measures onto any typical (semi-)autonomous platforms.

Laboratory for telecommunications (LTFE) will focus on cybersecurity threats and countermeasures in the context of communications and data technologies and services used as part of the military infrastructure.
