At the international conference History of Games ( https://www.history-of-games.com/) held under the auspices of Birmingham City University, our colleague, Nina Cvar, together with Jasmina Šepetavc from the Faculty of Social Sciences, presented the paper Bold Smugglers and DIY Heroes: Collective Memories and Erasures of Yugoslav Gaming Histories. In the paper, the authors addressed the history of videogames and gaming cultures in Slovenia/Yugoslavia, in particular the contexts in which amateur games and pirate cultures had developed, considering the specific characteristics of Yugoslav socialism. The research is part of collaboration with the research project Remembering the Early Digital Age (TECHNOPST), led by Natalija Majsova from the Faculty of Social Sciences.
