On the 19 April 2019, the Laboratory for Telecommunications team visited the Local Community of Padna in the Primorska region of Slovenia as a part of Smart Villages, SaMBA (both in the framework of the Alpine Space programme) and Liverur (Horizon 2020 programme) projects. We attended a discussion on the subjects of smart villages, circular economy, sustainable tourism, and mobility practices with Padna’s local inhabitants.

We met and interviewed individuals from the area who are most active and engaged in local community building in different areas, including business, tourism, and digital development. We recognised the importance of connecting with the local community when planning and developing solutions that are meant to benefit the inhabitants.
