On November 18, 2024, Dr. Jure Trilar and Dr. Nina Cvar, in collaboration with the Rotunda Center as part of the Smart Era project, conducted an online seminar titled Advanced Digital Technologies. The seminar, aimed at introducing new digital technologies in the pilot area of Šmarje/Padna, began with a discussion on the importance of tailoring digital transformation to meet human needs. Participants reviewed best practices, followed by a focus on the infrastructural aspects of digitalization, including 5G and the Internet of Things (IoT). The presentation addressed the management of big data and its processing through artificial intelligence, highlighting the significance and role of modern multimedia and reality-based user interfaces. It also raised awareness of growing cybersecurity threats linked to the increasing integration of digital solutions in daily life. The interactive session concluded with an exploration of blockchain technology and future advancements in quantum computing and quantum communication. The event aimed to promote and strengthen digital literacy in the pilot area.
