As part of the Digital Rural project, we invite you to join us for an online event on Tuesday, 3 June 2025 at 13:00 CEST via Zoom. The event will present concrete European approaches and tools that support the sustainable development of rural communities.

  • Learning from the Rural Toolkit
    Eleftherios (Terry) Stavropoulos, European Commission
    Terry Stavropoulos is an expert in EU urban and territorial development, EU funds, EU cohesion policy, and rural development. He is one of the co-authors of the Rural Toolkit, a comprehensive guide to EU funding opportunities for rural areas. The toolkit offers practical insights into how to combine different funds and can help local and regional actors design and finance integrated development strategies.
  • Good Practice from France: Lormes Smart Rural 27 lighthouse community
    Clive Peckham, European, Nièvre Numérique
    Clive Peckham is an expert in rural innovation and inclusive, sustainable development. With over thirty years of experience, he has worked across Europe to foster community-led digital and social innovation. As European Projects Manager at Nièvre Numérique, he has led several initiatives for rural empowerment and digital transformation. He will present the case of Lormes (France), one of the Smart Rural 27 lighthouse communities, highlighting their smart rural journey and latest community-driven innovations.
  • The event will be moderated by Dr. Emilija Stojmenova Duh, University of Ljubljana
