On 11 and 12 February 2025, the Interreg Europe embrAIsme project interregional learning event, titled AI Skills for SMEs: Future of Work, will bring together experts, policymakers, and industry leaders to explore how small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) can harness artificial intelligence (AI) to drive innovation and competitiveness. With AI reshaping industries globally, the event aims to equip SMEs with the tools and knowledge needed to thrive in an increasingly digital economy. Hosted at the University of Ljubljana’s Faculty of Electrical Engineering, the event will focus on sharing good practices, hosting interactive workshops, and identifying actionable strategies to advance AI skills within SMEs.

Both days will feature a series of insightful presentations and discussions, highlighting successful AI integration practices across various sectors, attracting and cultivating AI expertise in SMEs as well as in low-digital-skill sectors like agriculture. Participants will engage in interactive sessions, hands-on workshops and policy discussions and explore co-creative solutions for AI adoption challenges in SMEs.

Dr. Mário Campolargo, a renowned international policy expert, will deliver a keynote lecture, followed by a workshop on practical AI risk-solving. The event will culminate with a presentation of workshop results and closing remarks, setting the stage for future initiatives to bridge the AI skills gap in SMEs across Europe and continuing the efforts of embrAIsme project.
