The project focuses on the development and implementation of a virtual environment and scenarios at the cyber range of the Ministry of Defense (MoD), which will serve as a basis for the simulation and study of various cyber threats and attacks. The goal is to create realistic scenarios that enable comprehensive testing of defense systems and prepare personnel to deal with complex cyber incidents.

Project Objectives:

  1. Planning and preparation of the virtual environment: Develop a structured process for planning and establishing the virtual environment, encompassing all key components: virtual infrastructure, processes, systems, and trained personnel. Ensure that the virtual environment is flexible and adaptable to various scenarios and user needs.
  2. Preparation of Sample Scenarios: Create sample scenarios for testing defense communication and information systems, which will be used for hybrid exercises and training in the fields of defense, protection and rescue, critical infrastructure, and essential services.
  3. National Cyber Exercises: Prepare technical and content-rich scenarios for national cyber exercises, enabling the participation of various governmental and private institutions. Scenarios will be designed to test and improve responsiveness and coordination among different actors in the event of a cyber attack.
  4. Use of Artificial Intelligence: Implement artificial intelligence for the planning and execution of scenarios, enabling more realistic simulation and analysis of cyber threats. AI will assist in creating dynamic and adaptable scenarios that can adjust to participants’ responses in real-time.
  5. Utilization and Marketing of the Cyber Range: Propose ways to utilize and market the cyber range for the needs of public administration, research and development institutions, as well as educational institutions and industry in Slovenia. The range will serve as a platform for training, research, and the development of new defense strategies and technologies.

The project will provide a comprehensive and innovative solution for addressing cyber threats and attacks, benefiting both public and private sectors. This will contribute to greater cyber security and preparedness at the national level.
