Valuing Digital Communities in Europe: a Workshop on co-creating smart digital eco-systems and evaluating socio-economic and environmental impact
February 22, 2018 Rue de la Loi 38, 1000 Brussels, Belgium
INTERREG EUROPE project ERUDITE and the “European Network for Rural Development” are organising a workshop on “Valuing Digital Communities” on February 22 in Brussels.
The workshop will reproduce (in a single-day format) the multi-stakeholder SEROI+(Social and Economic Return on Investment with Open Innovation) process developed by the INTERREG EUROPE Project ERUDITE to co-create and value new digital solutions, services and environments.
Participants will follow a simple value-led roadmap for selected service areas, with four steps, that constitute the building blocks for rural smart environments and communities:
- Define policy or practice goals for the locality and the services
- Identify and engage relevant stakeholders
- Co-design the service
- Set indicators and values, estimate and then monitor social, economic and environmental return on investment
Participants will have the opportunity to experience an efficient and clear process designed to create the building blocks for smart environments and communities, and potentially adapt or introduce the concept at home to design and rethink their smart territory of the future.
The participants will work in working groups based on five service areas using real-life examples from European Rural Territories: Rural hubs (multi-functional service centres, including co-working and office space, community services, food hubs) , Fab and Maker Labs (including Education and training), Public and community service platforms, Health and well-being for seniors and people at risk and Smart Circular Village
50 experts from 7 European countries will attend the meeting together with participants from European Parliament, DG AGRI and DG REGIO. The Slovenian Member of the European Parliament Mr Franc Bogovic will take part in the workshop.
ERUDITE project (Enhancing Rural and Urban Digital Innovation Territories) project fosters digital solutions through interregional cooperation all over Europe, by testing Open Innovation and monitoring tools, and sharing good practices to create tomorrow’s digital services. The partnership is composed of 7 countries: Finland, Sweden, Hungary, Italy, France, Ireland, and Slovenia. Project coordinator is Digital Nièvre Joint Authority from France.
The participation to the event is open to wider European stakeholders and institutions; registration is free and available at the following link: https://www.interregeurope.eu/erudite/events/event/1484/workshop-valuing-digital-communities-in-europe/
