Representatives of the Digital Rural project recently took part in a partner meeting and Interregional Learning Event in the Vidzeme region, Latvia. The event focused on exchanging good practices and exploring how digital solutions can address challenges in rural areas.<\/p>\n
During the meeting, partners were introduced to a range of initiatives demonstrating different approaches to rural development.<\/p>\n
Among them was\u00a0EDIH Latvia<\/b>, which supports companies in their digital transformation by offering services from basic digital skills training to advanced technology adoption. A strong emphasis is also placed on training key target groups, such as workers and teachers.<\/p>\n
Partners also learned about the\u00a0digital twin of the Ogre River<\/b>, an innovative solution that enables flood prediction and supports timely response by public authorities.<\/p>\n
In the field of skills and community development, the\u00a0C\u0113sis Digital Centre<\/b>\u00a0presented its approach to strengthening digital competences and adapting training to real user needs, while the\u00a0Space Exploration Centre in C\u0113sis<\/b>\u00a0showcased how interactive learning environments can connect technology, education and local communities.<\/p>\n
The programme also included examples of sustainable solutions, such as the\u00a0Ce4Re project<\/b>, which helps reduce food waste in the restaurant sector through digital tools and circular economy principles.<\/p>\n
In addition, the municipality of Valmiera presented its ongoing\u00a0digitalisation efforts<\/b>, focusing on improving quality of life through the use of digital tools in public services and local governance.<\/p>\n
Participants also visited the\u00a0Vidzeme University of Applied Sciences laboratories<\/b>, where advanced technologies such as virtual and augmented reality are used in education and for developing practical solutions.<\/p>\n
