Faculty of Electrical engineering hosted the event in collaboration\nwith Faculty of Civil and Geodetic Engineering. The TOUREST project deals with\nthe sustainable management of water in the tourist coastal ADRION regions,\nregions of Italy, Slovenia, Croatia and Greece, which face similar problems\nwith water scarcity in arid (summer) periods. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"752\" height=\"565\" src=\"https:\/\/ltfe.org\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2019\/01\/Skupinska_vodovod_M1.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-33346\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ltfe.org\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2019\/01\/Skupinska_vodovod_M1.png 752w, https:\/\/ltfe.org\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2019\/01\/Skupinska_vodovod_M1-300x225.png 300w, https:\/\/ltfe.org\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2019\/01\/Skupinska_vodovod_M1-600x451.png 600w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 752px) 100vw, 752px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>The two-day\nmeeting was pact with activities. During the first day, we overviewed the\nproject progress and discussed the current and the forthcoming project\nactivities. On the second day, we went on a study excursion to the Slovenia\ncoast. First, we visited the Ri\u017eana Water Works Company where we learned about\nthe problems of delivering the quality water to the end users. The problem\nmagnifies during the summer months with the increase of tourist visitors. Second,\nwe visited the vodarna, the Ri\u017eana Water Works filtration in water purification\nplant. The first plant was built in 1935 and operated until 1997 when the old\nplant was replaced with a new and modern filtration in water purification plant.\nWe concluded our excursion with the visit of the St. Bernardin Resort.
