One of the invited speakers on the first day was also the president of the European Emergency Number Association (EENA http:\/\/www.eena.org\/<\/a>), dr. Demetrios Pyrros.<\/p>\n

During the NEXES pilot, the team of the Laboratory for Telecommunications of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering (LTFE, https:\/\/ltfe.org<\/a>) of the University of Ljubljana and its project partners from Finland, Romania, Spain and Turkey demonstrated four complex emergency scenarios. The NEXES system components support interoperable exchange of messages and alerts using multiple protocols (EDS, CAP), while also supporting advanced communication technologies (WebRTC audio and video, SIP protocol, multimedia file sharing, interactive chat, acquiring location data using multiple technologies, location updating, transmission of medical data, etc.). We actively participated in the scenarios with our own emergency call mobile application, our web-based PSAP system, our own PEMEA Service Provider (PSP) with geographic message routing, and our own solutions for WebRTC video communication between multiple persons and web-based chat application.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row type=”in_container” full_screen_row_position=”middle” scene_position=”center” text_color=”dark” text_align=”left” overlay_strength=”0.3″][vc_column column_padding=”no-extra-padding” column_padding_position=”all” background_color_opacity=”1″ background_hover_color_opacity=”1″ width=”1\/1″ tablet_text_alignment=”default” phone_text_alignment=”default”][image_with_animation image_url=”32882″ alignment=”center” animation=”Fade In” box_shadow=”none” max_width=”100%”][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row type=”in_container” full_screen_row_position=”middle” scene_position=”center” text_color=”dark” text_align=”left” overlay_strength=”0.3″][vc_column column_padding=”no-extra-padding” column_padding_position=”all” background_color_opacity=”1″ background_hover_color_opacity=”1″ width=”1\/1″ tablet_text_alignment=”default” phone_text_alignment=”default”][vc_column_text]The most complex scenario was a major crisis situation in Izmir (an earthquake), which overloaded the local PSAP with emergency calls. These calls were then rerouted to the neighbouring PSAPs, where the staff helped with the triage, and the most urgent calls were sent to the second-level ambulance service PSAP back in Izmir.<\/p>\n
