The ERUDITE Partnership Meeting took place in Slovenia from 28 to 30 March.

The theme of the first day was “SMART Territories: E-government, public and community services“. We presented the partnership between the University of Ljubljana and the Community of Municipalities of Slovenia in the development of support services for the development of digital skills and competences during and after the Covid-19 crisis.

The overarching theme of the second day was “Digital and Local Hubs; Mobility and New Business Models”. We visited the village of Šmarje pri Kopru, and its Divina wine hub. The hosts presented interesting good practices that have been triggered by the pandemic:

  • Virtual wine tasting
  • Internet of Things in vineyards – advanced viticulture, known as “smart vineyards”
  • Meet the local producer – a platform connecting producers/farmers with (local) consumers.
  • Co-travelers (a platform to increase mobility for senior citizens)

SEROI workshop followed with local and international stakeholders on the evaluation of the services presented. Special attention was paid to young winemakers, who are very active in the local environment and recognise the value of using modern technologies and co-creation. They were also the majority of the local participants in the workshop and they highlighted the need for joint market presence, joint marketing and distribution. We ended the meeting with a lot of new insights and ideas for further work.
